The Crankbrothers Mallet clip-in shoes are for gravity focused riding on the race track and at the bike park. The Mallet is optimised for use with Crankbrothers Mallet pedals and features the innovative Match System for hassle-free engagement with any MTB clip-in system, whether thats Crankbrothers or SPD.

The shoes come with a Match shim and Crankbrothers cleat pre-installed in a neutral position so they are ready to ride with Crankbrothers pedals right out of the box. The shim positions the cleat for a great feel with Crankbrothers pedals and can be removed once the cleat wears down to retain a positive engagement with the pedal that’s not too loose and not too tight.

SPD pedals don’t need the shim so you can remove it and put it in your spares box if you’re running these shoes with SPD’s or most other brands of pedals.

Riding Style: Designed for gravity-fed riding such as DH and Enduro racing.

Closure System: Classic lace closure system offers smooth closure with round laces and a pocket to safely tuck laces.

Match System: Match is a design approach that considers the pedal and the shoe as a unified system to provide and optimised interface.

Match Box: The ramped cleat box offers easy front and rear pedal entry and mud shedding. A Race Zone setback on the cleat track allows the cleat to be positioned further toward the heel for added control and stability when descending.

Match Compound: Crankbrothers’ mid-friction rubber compound (MC1) allows for easy pedal entry and exit and is hard enough to hold up to wear and tear. The radial lug pattern around the cleat box is designed to provide smooth release from the pedal body.

Match Outsole: The tread pattern is designed for traction off the bike. Directionally angled and spaced toe and heel lugs offer traction for hiking up or down steep terrain. The ramped toe provides walkability on steep terrain.
